These supplies are required for Cross Country athletes:
Runner profile - athletes must print & complete & bring this form to the first official practice on July 23, 2024.
Water (athletes must bring their own water for practices & meets). A half-gallon (64oz.) jug is recommended.
Running shoes* for everyday training (also, racing spikes or racing flats are recommended for meets). Please go to a specialty shop like Brazos Running Co.* in order to be properly fitted for the correct training shoes for you.
Wristwatch with stopwatch function for athlete's use at practices (you can find an inexpensive one at Walmart).
Running log (a simple spiral notebook will do) for keeping track of weekly mileage.
Modest workout clothes - OUR DRESS CODE for Athletes, Coaches, and Parent-Volunteers: All AHA-CCTF participants regardless of gender must wear shirts/tanks (ie, no shirtless guys, no gals in sports bras only, no crop-tops/belly shirts, etc). Shorts should at least reach mid-thigh in length, unless leggings or biking shorts/tights are worn underneath. (ie, the leggings/tights under the shorts must be visibly and obviously LONGER than the shorts, if the shorts do not reach mid-thigh.) Stretchy pants, yoga pants, spandex, etc. are not appropriate by themselves--they must have shorts over them.
Black running shorts (for races/meets) - Here are links to a brand/style that works well, is affordable, & adheres to our dress code: Lixada 2-in-1 running shorts. You can find them at Walmart and at Amazon.
Warm layers (like sweatpants, sweatshirts) for cooler weather days later in the season - to be worn over your modest workout clothes so the layers can come off, if needed, after warm-up etc.
Racing singlets (tops, for races/meets) will be issued on loan & must be returned at the end of the season.
